Supporting Players

A group of failed actresses think they may be onto something after they jokingly suggest holding a casting call for husbands.  After much debate they decide to produce an ultra-low budget independent film starring themselves and a group of deadbeat actors who will hopefully fulfill their hopes and dreams.  But the script keeps changing as none of the actresses can decide on who wants which leading man.

Curtain Call

            After Anna’s playwright husband commits suicide, she goes into a deep depression, and only comes out of it when she discovers a trunk full of plays that he wrote but never produced.  An aspiring director herself, Anna decides to stage several of her late husband’s works.  She eventually realizes that these projects were less intended for an audience than they were for her and were meant to help her cope with and overcome his untimely demise. (surely he had cancer or some such)

Out of Character

            A playwright/director and his actress wife begin to have trouble after he writes a role for her that involves an intimate affair with a handsome actor and she seems to enjoy it a little bit too much.  She explains that she’s just in character.  He fires back by doing ‘research’ for his next play, which is about a well-justified extra-marital affair.  Their game gets violent on and off stage and things become increasingly muddled between reality and performance.
