Guilty

This dark courtroom drama centers around a man who is caught taking voyeur-like pictures of young girls in swimsuits at an amusement park.  Police investigate his house and find thousands of such pictures.  The man stands trial for possession of child pornography.  After a long trial, the jurors find him innocent of the charges but feel strongly to the contrary.  The man is released but is awakened in his house by the jury who run a short kangaroo court and execute him.

Maid to Order

            Galina’s only escape from a viciously chauvinistic and abusive life in the Ukraine is by becoming a mail-order bride.  The man who brings her over seems to be a nice all-American man, but when she begins to suffer from traumatic memories, he realizes that she is more of a burden then he expected and he begins to treat her less like a person and more like a disposable object.  Now she struggles to discern the motives of his male friends who offer to help her, and wonders if her best option might be to run away again and try a new life elsewhere.

The Christy Sisters and the Case of the Hidden Ring

Two high-school Nancy Drew style detectives begin investigating a small mystery, perhaps the disappearance of a school trophy or something equally banal, only to watch it spiral insanely out of control and lead them into an enormous and very adult conspiracy involving sex-trafficking.  The girls emphatically resist involving the authorities as they want to solve the case themselves, but eventually they have no choice.  The trafficking ring is successfully disbanded, but the girls’ innocence is lost.
