A blind painter is dismissed by the art world as being
inherently incapable of participating, when he strives to convey the sense of
sightlessness to the sighted. The people that do support him primarily do so
for fraudulent reasons; they just want to seem accepting without actually
internalizing his goals. Worse, insecurities caused by his phony supporters
causes him to doubt himself, and since he can’t see, he struggles to confirm
his self-worth.
