Galina’s only escape from a
viciously chauvinistic and abusive life in the Ukraine is by becoming a
mail-order bride. The man who brings her
over seems to be a nice all-American man, but when she begins to suffer from
traumatic memories, he realizes that she is more of a burden then he expected
and he begins to treat her less like a person and more like a disposable
object. Now she struggles to discern the
motives of his male friends who offer to help her, and wonders if her best option
might be to run away again and try a new life elsewhere.
